The Peoria Public Library Local History and Genealogy Room, temporarily located at the WTVP building at 101 State Street will close while work is done on the building from Monday, September 13 until Friday, September 17.

Prequalification of Subcontractors for:

 The Board of Trustees of Peoria Public Library are holding public meetings on Tuesday, March 30th and Thursday, April 1st at Common Place, 514 S. Shelley at 7:00 p.m. to collect input from the public on the preliminary drawings for the restoration and expansion of the Peoria Public Library Lincoln Branch.

 (March 8, 2010) Peoria Public Library will close South Side Branch at 6:00 p.m on Friday, March 19 in order to pack and move materials so the building can be vacated and turned over to the current owner of the building, District 150, for renovations by March 31.

Due to construction, Peoria Public Library Main Library will close public computers on Tuesday, January 12. Public computers continue to be available at all other Peoria Public Library locations.There will be four "Internet-Express" computers available beginning Tuesday, January 19 in the Lower Level essential services library. These computers may be used for 15 minutes at a time for short tasks such as checking email or looking up a web page. When the renovated Main Library opens in 2011 there will be new computer labs as well as Internet-Express stations.

October 24 is the final day The Friends of Peoria Public Library will be able to accept book donations until the renovated libraries reopen. The Friends of the Library will have a new store at the Main Library starting in 2011.  The following libraries will be pleased to accept your donations until The Friends have their new store.

The public is invited to attend a Groundbreaking at the Main Street Branch on Friday, October 30 at 10:00 a.m. The ceremony will launch the major renovation of the building that is part of the Peoria Public Library building program.

A groundbreaking for the North Branch Library will be held on Thursday, September 10 at 10:00 a.m. at the site of the North Branch on Grand Parkway in Medina Plains Corporate Park off Townline Road.
