On Tuesday, January 23 and Wednesday, January 24, the library's checkout software will be upgraded. During the upgrade process, library patrons and staff will be unable to register, renew or modify library card account information or place or modify holds/reserves of materials. Users will not be able to check out books from the e-book services ADML and e-Read Illinois on Tuesday morning. Books and audiobooks that have been downloaded already. will work The upgrade will affect most local public libraries. Please contact the library staff for additional assistance. Overdue Fees

How much are overdue fines?
Overdue fines range from 10 cents to $1.00 per day depending on the item. Please refer to the Guide to circulation of materials for the fines for different types of materials. Library cards may not be used when overdue fines reach $5, until payment is made.

What if I lose or damage something I borrow?
In addition to the replacement cost of the lost item, you will be charged a $5 non-refundable processing fee for each lost item. The library may accept identical replacement items in lieu of lost items. Items returned with damage that warrants withdrawal from the collection will be treated as lost.

Fine Policy
Effective January 1, 1999 the maximum fine allowed to accumulate on a library card will be $5.00 A library card with a fine balance of $5.00 or more will be blocked from use until the fine balance is reduced. The new $5.00 limit is a global standard adopted by area libraries in the Resource Sharing Alliance/Alliance Library System. For more information, contact  309-497-2167.
