Check out a variety of eco-friendly programming this April — everything from Composting 101 to Earthworm Races to Recycled/Upcycled crafts.

Earth Day is April 22, but Peoria Public Library is celebrating all month — and longer. Our Peoria Reads 2024 theme this year is Nature’s Best Hope: Exploring Conservation and Climate Change.

The book — Nature’s Best Hope: A New Approach to Conservation that Starts in Your Yard by Douglas Tallamyoutlines a grassroots approach to conservation that is practical, effective, easy and — yes — even fun.

We’ll host a virtual author event (and watch party!) with Tallamy at 7 p.m., April 17 at Lakeview Branch, 1137 W. Lake Ave.
