Touching Hearts. Changing Lives. That’s Friends of Peoria Public Library.
When you become a member of Friends, you are making a personal investment in your local library in a way that can change lives. We invest in programming and events that the library couldn’t otherwise afford, but which make our community richer.
One example of Friends’ support is the annual Summer Reading celebration. With help from local corporations and other nonprofits, Friends supports the purchase of brand-new bicycles for dozens of children in Lincoln Branch’s Summer Reading program. In 2019, a record 91 brand-new bicycles were given away. Friends also hosts the annual Summer Reading family-friendly celebration at Peoria Riverfront Museum, bringing in magicians and other special acts as well as offering prizes.

The Friends Endowment Fund
To develop long-term support for the Peoria Public Library, the Friends have established an endowment fund. The fund will be an important method through which you and other supporters can offer significant long-term support for the library in a variety of ways.
Tax-deductible gifts to the Friends of the Library will provide items and services which the regular budget cannot accommodate such as:
• Establish a memorial fund
• Make a bequest in your will
