1000 Books Before Kindergarten

Research has shown that about a third of kindergarteners don’t have the language skills they need to learn to read, but consistent reading from birth on can prepare them. Reading not only helps with early brain development, but it’s also a great way to bond with your little one too.

Stop by any Peoria Public Library location and sign up for this free, self-paced program. Use our paper reading logs, sign in at peoriapubliclibrary.beanstack.org  (or the app available online) and track your child’s progress. Stop by your favorite PPL location and show us each time you’ve read 100 books together, and we’ll share a small reading reward. Of course, developing a lifelong love of reading is a great reward, but we will also do something special for all those who finish 1,000 books before Kindergarten!
