How to Use Interlibrary Loan Service

Peoria Public Library supports the sharing of library resources with an Interlibrary Loan Service. The service allows Peorians to request materials from across the United States by following the various rules and standards set by libraries and library systems across the country. The materials that can be requested through interlibrary loan are those that are not obtainable through the Peoria Public Library collection, reciprocal borrowing or purchase. Requests will be pursued until all leads are exhausted, the time restriction is exceeded or the cardholder cancels the request.

This privilege is limited to those with a valid Peoria Public Library card. The lending library may place conditions such as “in-house use only” or recall of materials and Peoria Public Library honors those conditions.

The cardholder is responsible for any fees associated with the requested material, billing for lost or damaged items or fines for overdue material.

We request you return all Inter-Library Loan materials to the desk of the branch where you received the materials.

For complete details on using this service or for librarians who wish to submit a request to Peoria Public Library the Interlibrary Loan Policy will answer most questions.
