Peoria Public Library is excited to help you on your organic gardening journey!
Check out these two free opportunities this April to learn from a local expert, Anita Poeppel of Broad Branch Farm in rural Chillicothe.
Organic Farming: Monday, April 20 ~ 6 PM at North Branch, 3001 W. Grand Pkwy.
Learn about soil preparation, fertility and how to extend your growing season using organic farming methods long tested by the Poeppel family. Free. Open to adults. Drop-in.
Broad Branch Farm Visit: Saturday, April 25 ~ 10 AM to Noon at Broad Branch Farm, 22000 N Berchtold Rd, Chillicothe.
Anita Poeppel will show us what it takes to have a successful food garden, in a way that is reasonable both in size and time commitment. Broad Branch Farm is a working organic farm north of Chillicothe. Anita is committed to helping other people learn to grow their own food. Dress for a mess AND THE WEATHER because we will be out in it! This hands-on, demonstration program is open to adults of all experience levels…everyone can learn something!
